Rules of Participation

  1. Acceptance of Terms

• All participants must read and accept the terms of participation and regulations, including understanding and agreeing to adhere to the mountain safety guidelines (https://gopr.org/poradnik) before the retreat begins.

2. Required Clothing and Equipment

Equipment: Participants must bring clothing and equipment suitable for the terrain and weather conditions, including:

• Swimwear swim suit, towel, flip flops

Crampons (no exceptions)

Emergency Gear: Spare dry clothing, and cold-weather gear, ideally a down jacket, long trousers, winter thermal underwear, gloves, warm hat, and a warm scarf.

Lightweight Pack: To maintain endurance and safety, each participant’s pack and equipment should be light. Suggested pack weight is no more than 9 kilograms

3. Safety Check and Leader Authority

• The leader or instructor will conduct a safety check before the retreat starts and reserves the right to prohibit any participant from joining activities if their equipment or clothing is inadequate or poses a safety risk. Non-compliant participants may still join the group for non-hazardous activities but must sit out more intensive segments.

4. Emergency Preparedness

Hypothermia Preparedness: In case of mild (1st-degree) hypothermia requiring assistance, each participant should be prepared to wait an extended period for the mountain rescue team to arrive (see clothing requirements above).

Communication: Each participant must bring a fully charged mobile phone with the latest version of the Rescue app installed. In case of emergency, for you or another fellow human being, this is a way to contact the mountain rescue team. Participants are advised to keep their phones in an inside pocket to conserve battery life.

5. Group Movement and Supervision

• Participants are required to stay with the group at all times, following a planned route led by an instructor and a certified Sudete guide. Straying from the group is strictly prohibited.

6. Consequence of Non-Compliance

• Participants who fail to comply with these rules or disregard the leader’s instructions may be asked to leave the retreat for their own safety and that of others, with no refund provided.

7. Weather Conditions

• Be prepared for sudden weather changes. Instructors will provide updates, and participants should remain flexible in case of necessary route or schedule adjustments.
