Hungry. I'm still hungry.
Gotta get that energy. Ingest food. Masticate. Chew. Chew. I mean really. Chew again. Make that a real paste. Homogenous. Little to no chunks. Your stomach will thank you. Saliva mixes with it. Starts to break down the food thanks to it's enzymes. That mix will gently go down the oesophagus. Landing into an acid bath. Killing bacteria. Breaking down the paste into smaller bits and pieces. Small intestine wants to absorb all it can get. You never know when the next meal will come. Let's make it count. Nutrients absorbed. Vitamins. Minerals. Protein. Carbohydrates. Amino acids. Fatty acids...everything we need to sustain our function. Into large intestine. Getting ready to be evacuated. Get out a little more water. Don't want to get thirsty. Ahh. Evacuation. That's toxic. It should leave. We are nothing but a hole. Food comes in. We get out what we want. Evacuate what's not good for us. First step mastication. Super important. Chew. Again. So important that our jaw and tongue play key roles in our overall well being. The face and mouth represent 35-40% of the overall information the brain receives from the body. Yep! Huge amount of info from that small surface. A slight deviation of our bite. Major changes all over. Poor swallowing. Same thing. Chew. Chew. Chew. Equally on both sides. Take time to enjoy the tastes. Soak your tastes buds. Too strong taste? Try more subtler foods. Less artificial stuff. More natural tastes. Less sugar. Less hot sauce. More fruits. More veggies. Give the mind-body what it needs. Not your emotional crutches. They do taste good. Unfortunately they keep us from getting where we could go. They slow us down. Chew. Chew. Chew. Swallow. Breathe. Gustative explosion. Enjoy the aftermath. Pop. Prickly. Pop. Hmm. Home grown. Sun bathed. Organic Strawberry. Heaven on Earth. Or was it the wild rasberry? Who cares? Savour.
